Masculinity Portraits

Rhea Micallef-Gavin, Maltese and based in London explores masculinity through portraiture. Looking into the relationship between societal identity and the fashion industry, Rhea investigates this discussion through delicate line and bold colour using a range of media, oil, ink, acrylic, watercolour and coal.

Her first solo exhibition was held at The Crypt, a leading jazz club in Camberwell. Currently, Rhea is working toward her graduate collection ‘Maltese Farmboy dreams of 70s Hollywood.’ She initiated this research through film photography to depict the Maltese acidic landscape.
