This series explores the difficulties of heartache and healing. It tells a story of a Black woman’s experience with depression, health failures, heartbreak and grief.

Through this suffering, she discovers her sexuality, falls in love again (with herself) and learns what true healing means. This series’ main message is to depict the feelings she faces in the midst of the healing process.

“Healing” is abstract in and of itself. It is variant yet specific to each body, mind and soul. And whilst there exists general guidelines to attain health, wholeness and wellness, there truly is no right way or one way. This series attempts to communicate this concept, through the various sources of light, the abstraction of the forms and uncertainty of the gravity within the pieces. Creating these pieces were healing indeed.
