Real Love

Real Love is a photographic exhibition that explores the relationship between artist and muse through the intersections of identity and landscape. Using Toronto as a backdrop, photographer Janice Reid focuses on the juxtaposition of female blackness and the urban environment. As the sisterhood shared between Reid and her muse Justine develops over three sets of images, our assumptions of black women and the urban landscape shift from harsh to intimate and inviting.
