I Hope You Cry by Shep Treasure
This EP is a collection of songs from a recent period of time when everything was changing in my life. I was graduating from college, I was ending an old music project, starting a new one, moving to a new city, and then back, and generally just bouncing around. I still am bouncing around but have been able to express a lot of what I’m feeling in these songs. Some lyrics may seem dark but they come from an honest place and are often exaggerated.
I have a great team of friends around me who help with Shep Treasure, especially Alex Nicholls, who recorded and mixed the EP and also added some guitars on it, John Lewandowski who played drums on it and has been playing shows with me for years, and Tiger Adams who played bass and has helped me set up lots of shows. I wrote these songs on guitar in whatever bedroom I was living in and sang them all for the EP. I have been trying to make my voice a little louder, but you know I’m glad if people listen at all. I have a lot more songs in the works too, so I’m excited to put these ones out and get started on the next ones!
